Underground Crafter

Marie Segares, Proprietress of the Underground Crafter, has been crocheting for over 25 years, making soap for almost 10 years, and quilting for 5 years.  Marie is a Craft Yarn Council of America Certified Crochet Instructor (Level I) and Certified Crochet Teacher (Level II).  She specializes in teaching individual and small group crochet classes for beginner and intermediate students.  Learn about current crochet classes here.  In addition to private lessons, Marie teaches crochet through Barnard College mini courses and the DC 37 Saturday Activity Program.

In addition to teaching, Marie makes handmade items for sale on Etsy and by commission.

Marie is a member of the Crochet Guild of America, Empire Quilters, and the New York City Crochet Guild.

Marie is also a member of two Etsy Teams: Big Damn Crafters (Firefly enthusiasts) and The {NewNew} - New York Etsy Team.
