WIP Wednesday: Inch by inch
The bedspread I’m making for my sister is moving along slowly (previous posts here and here). I’m still without an indoor photography set up while we switch around work spaces in my apartment, and it was too rainy out to take a picture, so let’s use the honor system. I finished one more block and am about 1/3 of the way through another one.
The KnitPicks Swish in gold, unfortunately, was not “gold enough” for the Saints, so I ended up returning it and ordering the Cascade 220 Superwash in 877. It’s more expensive, but worth it to have a better color match.
I’ve been doing a lot of my crocheting on the subway during my commute. Since I misplaced my iPod Nano earlier this week, I had to rely on my own unconscious to provide the musical accompaniment for my trip. For some reason, “Case of the PTA” by Leaders of the New School seemed to pop up in my mental “shuffle” quite a bit, so I’ve decided it is the theme song for this blanket.
Tomorrow, I’ll be back with several gift guide posts for those of you planning to do some holiday shopping over the weekend (as well as for those of you planning to do some holiday hinting over the weekend)!
Also, all items in my Etsy shop and Ravelry shop will be 25% off starting tomorrow through next Monday, 11/28 as part of my Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday sale. I’m also offering these additional discounts for my blog readers:
- $2 off with a minimum $10 purchase on Ravelry using coupon code BLOG1111 (through 12/31/11) and
- $2 off with a minimum $10 purchase on Etsy (refunded after purchase) if you write BLOG1111 in the notes to seller. Please note that patterns purchased on Etsy can be emailed or sent to your Ravelry pattern library.
And don’t forget that I’m hosting a giveaway for 60 More Quick Knits in this blog post through November 28.
Don’t forget to check out more Work in Progress posts at Tami’s Amis!

Do you find it easier to destash via etsy or Ravelry? I’ve got some yarn I want off of my hands and I’m trying to think of the best way to do it.
Vanessa, I’ve never destashed on Rav so I have no comparison
. I’ve done some destashing through Etsy, some through my own website, and some through in person exchanges.
I’m sending you good karma for your Nano. I misplaced mine for weeks and then suddenly it turned up! I applaud your decision to go for the golder yarn; it has to be as close as you can get it, doesn’t it?
Thanks Minding My Own Stitches! The Nano is safe and sound (and playing music right now)! So true about the colors.
I’ll be back for those holiday gift posts since I am feeling very unmotivated to shop for gifts this year. Thanks for the cool music link.
I hope they help autumngeisha!
Uh, yeah. Matching team colors is serious… you gotta pay the extra bucks
So true Stacey! I was just hoping miracles would happen
