WIP Wednesday: Gold Rush
Having a four day weekend gave me a lot of uninterrupted crafting time. (Side note: I usually teach crochet and knitting on Saturdays. While it is mighty fun to get paid to do what you love, having a one day weekend does prove stressful over the long haul.) I really needed the extra days to make some progress on the blanket for my sister. (You can read more about this project here, here, and here.)
I actually worked on it right in front of her during Thanksgiving, but since I was only using the black and white yarn, she was none the wiser. On Friday, the Cascade 220 Superwash in 877 that I will be using for my gold granny squares arrived. With all of my yarn now in place, I started working a little faster.
I’ve been keeping track of my progress by updating the project layout picture I made for myself. The grayed out sections are already complete.
As you can see, I still have a lot to get done.

Oh wow! You’re making great progress. There are a lot of things I miss about NYC but pigeons are not one of them.
I don’t mind the pigeons as much as the pigeon dropping, Vanessa!
Lots to do, but lots done! It’s fun to see the gold appear!
I like the gold too, Minding My Own Stitches. It makes it feel like I’m moving faster.
It really is progressing quickly! Definitely one of those projects easy to work on in front of the recipient since nobody really questions a bunch of black squares for awhile, right?
The blanket is coming along wonderfully! I think even the pigeon approves:)
That’s going to be so gorgeous when it’s done! And I love the way you’re tracking your progress. Something like that would be a huge motivator for me. Hmmm…..
Welcome, Paula, and thanks for cheering me on!
It looks great already! And I agree, the pigein looks very satisfied with your progress, lol!
I love when pigeons interject themselves into the lives of New Yorkers, Just-in and Karen.
It looks great! I’m sure you’ll get it done quickly.
I love the design.
Thanks Tanya, Liz, and Nicole! I feel like it isn’t fast enough though!
you are so fast! lookin good!
You’re making a lot of progress! Though I’m such a nerd that at first I thought you were making a hufflepuff blanket before I saw that it was in the Saint’s colors lol
I would rather make a Hufflepuff blanket, Christina! It troubles my New Yorker-ness to make a team blanket from another locality.
Fab colour combination!
Welcome Countess Ablaze. Thanks – I can’t take credit for the colors, though
.
You are going quickly!! Love the progress and it looks great!
Thanks, Heather!
