Ripple Mania CAL: Week 3 – Ripple Variations
This week is all about ripple variations – how to make your ripples pointier, lacier, more or less textured, and so on. This week’s Ripple Mania PDF includes four stitch patterns and one project. Due to Hurricane Sandy, I didn’t take as many pictures as I would usually, but here are the patterns you will find this week.
I’m also very excited to announce two sponsors for the Ripple Mania prizes: Coats & Clark and Leisure Arts.
The CAL is free to join. Each week, an updated PDF will be available to download on Ravelry, and Ravelry members can chat in the Ripple Mania CAL thread in the Underground Crafter group. (You do not have to be a Ravelry member to download the PDF.) Once the CAL ends on November 21, Ripple Mania will be converted to a “for sale” pattern ebook.

Does the big reveal mean it has to be finished? That is so not going to happen for me
Tanya, I think that will depend on the type of project. I will set up some guidelines but I think people who are making cowls or dishcloths should be finished, while those making blankets – not so much
.
AH I hope to finish something for this, but so busy, so busy! I’m going to take your dishcloth/cowl/something small idea very seriously!
Go for it, Mary! Don’t feel pressured to make something large if you don’t have time.
I decided to do a solid ripple (instead of lacy) and my sister picked out the colors. So far, I have done a few rows of blue, then the RH coordinating variegated, some yellow and more variegated. White is next, then I plan to repeat the pattern colors. I’m aiming for a twin size throw but we’ll see how much yarn I have after the whole repeat of colors.
These sound like great colors, Kat B. Is the ripple for your sister, or did she just help out with color selection?
