According to Food.com, “every day is a food holiday,” and May 15 is National Chocolate Chip Day.
I am a huge fan of chocolate chip cookies (I prefer chewy to crunchy), and yes, I do have my own variation on the classic NESTLÉ Toll House recipe.

My secret is to use almond extract instead of vanilla, and to substitute other “mix ins” for that cup of chopped nuts, like M&Ms, peanut butter chips, dried cranberries, or slivered almonds.
But what if you want to celebrate Chocolate Chip Cookie Day every day? Or, without baking? Then you may want to try out my crochet version!
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Pad is like a jumbo cookie that protects your counter tops from harm!
I’d love to see your version! Share a picture on Ravelry or on my Facebook page.
