Thank you so much, Marie, for inviting me to share a bit about Stackpole Books in conjunction with your Holiday Stashdown Crochet-a-Long!

ILC October 2015 squareWe are excited to be a sponsor and to offer copies of Crochet for Christmas as prizes for participants. For those excited about crocheting for the holidays, this book will offer them even more ideas–cute hats and hoods for gifts, a fun mitten and hat garland, a Rudolph basket, hedgehog doorstop, elegant tree skirt, and so much more! It’s a really gorgeous book full of modern crochet patterns for holiday wearing, giving, and decorating.

Crocheting RugsFor those who aren’t yet familiar with Stackpole Books, let me introduce us. Though we’ve been a well known publisher to fly fisherman and military history buffs for years, it is only in the last few years that we have turned our attention to craft books, specifically crochet and knitting books, and we are striving to become one of the best in this area, too. Since these crafts are personal passions of mine, I was very excited for this new direction!

25 Cozy Crocheted SlippersOur new Fall 2015 lineup of books includes five crochet titles: Broomstick Lace Crochet by Donna Wolfe, a detailed book on how to work this vintage technique, including 20 patterns; 25 Cozy Crocheted Slippers by Kristi Simpson, with a variety of fun and functional designs for men, women, and children; Crocheting Rugs by Nola Heidbreder and Linda Pietz, which features 40 unique crocheted rug patterns; Basic Crocheting and Projects by Sharon Silverman, which is a wonderful instructional book for beginning crocheters and a reference book for the more experienced; and Crochet for Christmas, which features holiday designs from alumni members of the Design Wars Challenge.

Broomstick Lace CrochetWe also have several knitting titles coming out this fall. Stylish Knit Scarves & Hats with Mademoiselle Sophie is a beautiful book of easy-yet-stunning patterns by well-known French designer Mlle Sophie. I had the pleasure of meeting her when she was in New York (so sweet!), and we are thrilled to be bringing her designs to an American audience. Expect to see much more from her. We have another book with her in the works, and she will be living in New York starting in January and she is planning to make it out and about to share her love of knitting in the U.S.

Basic Crocheting and ProjectsAlso out this fall are Knit a Vintage Christmas and 25 Stylish Knitted Slippers, two more titles that will feed your Christmas crafting frenzy. And if you want a new yarn technique to try, check out Finger Weaving. Vickie Howell published an excerpt from the book that shows you the basic technique here.

CraftsyTo keep up with our new books as they come out (and check out our other craft books), receive discount codes, and to receive a free pattern monthly, visit our website and sign up for our free Crafts eNewsletter. You can also follow our Facebook page, Stackpole Fiber Crafts, for all the latest yarnie news.

I can’t wait to see all of the fabulous holiday projects you make as part of this CAL!

Thanks for stopping by, Candi, and for sponsoring the crochet-a-long.
