Way back in 2013, I knit this hat. I loved the look and the yarn, but it came out far too big. I ended up giving it to my (very tall) uncle but the pattern was still on my mind. Then in 2015, I made this version for my dad. I changed the cable pattern up a little bit. I liked the hat, but it still wasn’t perfect so I tinkered with it a little more. It turns out that a thinner yarn was really the key! After I met the folks from Mountain Meadow Wool at The National Needlearts Association last year, they sent me some Alpine yarn to try out.

Finally, this hat was exactly what I wanted. I hope you feel the same about this stretchy beanie with great cable details!
