But this would look great in any color combo!

Finished size:

  • 30.5 x 43 in (77 x 109 cm) unblocked

Gauge:

  • H (5) hook: 13 dc stitches = 4 in (10 cm)
  • 6 rows = 3.75 in (9.5 cm)

Level of difficulty:

  • Easy

  • Crochet hook: H (5 mm)
  • Tapestry needle optional (for weaving in ends)

Yarn:

  • Caron Simply Soft (100% acrylic) – 2 skeins in ea color
  • Medium 4 weight
  • Dark Country Blue
  • Harvest Red
  • White

  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • ea – each
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • sc – single crochet

Pattern notes:

The afghan

  • Foundation chain: Begin with blue. Pattern is multiple of 14+1. (For this afghan, I chained 141.)
  • Row 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, [hdc in each of next 2 ch, dc in each of next 2 ch, tr in each of next 3 ch, dc in each of next 2 ch, hdc in each of next 2 ch, sc in each of next 3 ch], repeat pattern ending with 2 sc. (141 st) Note: I work the first row in the back bumps of the chain. This makes it easy to add the border.
