Baby blanket blues
It seems that May is the month of baby blankets for me. I’ve been working on this one for a few weeks (ok, really only for about 3 days but over the course of two weeks). I’m already getting a bit bored of the colors – if the baby wasn’t already born, I might even put it aside! So I decided to start planning ahead for the baby boy due next month.
My friends have a baby registry and I was able to get a glimpse of some of the colors they are using.
Now I will begin the debate in my head about whether I can make the blanket with acrylic yarn or if these friends are members of the “cotton only” crowd. I don’t see anything in their registry to indicate an aversion to any particular fiber, but I know some people are pretty picky about synthetics these days. (You don’t even have to knit or crochet to be a yarn snob!)
As for the pattern, I’m thinking a classic ripple might be fun. I recently learned about Biscuits and Jam’s Random Stripe Generator and I’ve been waiting for a stripy project to create with it.

I love that sea creature quilt for myself!
It is super cute isn’t it Vanessa? I like the colors too so I’m looking forward to finding some yarn that works with the theme…
