Roundup: 5 Free Crochet Patterns by Goddess Crochet

On the weekends, I’m inviting some of my crochet, knitting, and crafty friends for a takeover of my Instagram account so they can share their talents with you. Since you can’t easily share links on Instagram, on Sunday night, I’ll share a roundup including links to all the patterns and projects featured in the takeover. So, are you ready for this week’s #undergroundcraftertakeover roundup?

An Instagram takeover free crochet pattern roundup featuring Goddess Crochet on Underground Crafter

  1. Joanna says, “Howdy fellow crafty people! My name is Joanna, owner and designer at Goddess Crochet. I’ve been crocheting since my daughter was born in 2012 and shortly after started the Goddess Crochet website to share my creations and original patterns with the world. My goal is to create patterns accessible to all levels of crocheter, so anyone who wants to can tap into their inner goddess through the fiber arts!”
  2. Joanna says, “November is scrap busting month at Goddess Crochet. All patterns released this month were created with the purpose of using up those yarn remnants. The idea is, you can use up your scrap yarn making holiday gifts for friends and family. Then, you can go out and treat yourself to some new skeins! This Scrappy Tube Scarf is the first pattern, available now for free. I went with a color crazy, ‘anything goes’ scarf, and I think it’s rather fabulous! Perhaps it should be a gift, but I’m keeping it!”
  3. Joanna says, “The Scraptastic Cowl is a great way to use up those yarn remnants you’re not sure what to do with. Since November is scrap busting month at Goddess Crochet, I went with different colors for each row.  I guess that means it would match any outfit! This pattern is now available for free on my website. Happy hooking!”
  4. Joanna says, “In keeping with the scrap busting theme of this month, I have been working on this super easy triangle shawl. It’s called the It’s Just a Triangle shawl, from Laughing Purple Goldfish Designs. You can find it on Ravelry with a simple search of the pattern name. And, side note, if you are not on Ravelry and you crochet or knit, you are missing out big time! Just go, sign up (for free), click around. Cancel the next 3 hours of your life while you digitally hoard crochet and knitting patterns.” You can read Joanna’s review of the pattern here on Goddess Crochet.
  5. Joanna says, “One of the perks of running a crochet blog is getting crochet pattern books in exchange for detailed and honest book reviews. The last book I was able to review was Urban Slouch Hats, and it is a fun one. I just love making hats! They work up quickly and make great gifts. These four are just a few I’ve made from the book. The complete book review is available on my website now. If you like slouchy beanies, I think you’ll dig it!”
  6. Joanna says, “These Easy Wrist Warmers are an earlier pattern I keep coming back to. They are worked in the round, with just a little bit of shaping for the thumb. When I had my bag of scrap yarn out I decided I needed a new pair of wrist warmers in crazy colors, just for fun.”
  7. Joanna says, “For those of us in the Northeast USA and Canada, winters hit hard. It’s cold, wet, dark. We need big scarves and plenty of layers to keep our extremities from going numb. But if you live in an area that only gets ‘slightly chilly’ in the winter, you don’t need much in the way of layers. This skinny scrappy scarf crochet pattern is great if you aren’t looking for warmth so much as a pop of color. It’s also a good ‘transitional’ scarf, that time in spring when the mornings and evenings are still chilly, or in autumn when it hasn’t gotten too frigid yet. The tails in this pattern become part of the fringe, which means no weaving in tails! You don’t have to have the fringe, but then you have to weave in ends. Just say yes to fringe! This free crochet pattern is available here on Goddess Crochet.”
  8. Joanna says, “While working on the Scraptastic Cowl, using the linen stitch, I really wanted to make a matching pair of fingerless gloves. It took a little trial and error to get the shaping just right, and I’m quite happy with the result! Since these are Scrap Buster Fingerless Gloves, I used all different colors. If you alternate just 2 colors you’ll get a neat striping effect. Use as few or an many colors as you want. The key is just to have fun with it! Look for the free crochet pattern here on Goddess Crochet.”

Thanks so much for visiting with us this weekend, Joanna. Follow @ucrafter and @goddesscrochet on Instagram for more crochet inspiration!
