I started the ripple scarf a few weeks ago when I was in the waiting room at the emergency department while a family member was being seen. I wanted to use an interesting looking pattern that wasn’t too difficult to crochet because my mind wasn’t going to be fully focused.
This pattern features ripples of two different lengths but it uses only one stitch (double crochet) in the pattern. Decreases are worked by skipping stitches. Crocheting this scarf gave me comfort when I needed it, but the Premier Candy Shop colorway (called Twix) reminded me of hiking. It had a kind of adventurous look to it, so that’s where I got the title for this set.
After the scarf was finished, I still had most of the second skein left, so I decided to make a matching beanie. I added some texture to the beanie instead of ripples, so you can wear (or gift) these projects together or separately.
