Skill Level

  • Beginner. Made mostly of double crochet stitches. Also involves a chain 1 skip 1 sequence to create the holes that form the triangle shape. Know how to work into the hole. Project starts with foundation double crochet stitches, but I provide an easier alternative.

Stitches & Abbreviations

  • Chain (Ch)
  • Double Crochet (DC)
  • Foundation Double Crochet (FDC)
  • Skip (Sk)
  • Stitch (St)

Pattern Notes

  • Gauge is only important for this pattern if you wish to achieve the same dimensions as I have given. You may use a smaller or larger yarn or hook to work the project but know that your finished product will have a different size and appearance then what has been provided.
  • The chain 2 at the start of each row counts as the first DC. The last stitch of every row will be worked into the top chain of the previous row’s beginning chain 2.
  • Each triangle, whether point up or point down is completed in a 33 DC x 17 row repeat. This pattern features 4 columns and 8 rows of triangles.
  • Use the multiple provided above to make this blanket in other dimensions too. Be mindful of your gauge to help you determine the size your blanket could be.
  • A helpful video tutorial by Moogly for the foundation double crochet (FDC) is available here. Alternatively, you can start this project as follows: Ch 133 chains. Row 1: Skip 2 ch (counts as a stitch), turn, dc in next 131 ch. Continue on to Row 2 in the pattern.
