Why blue, you may be wondering? I learned about Lion Brand’s #HatNotHate campaign a few weeks ago. I put together this roundup as part of my charity spotlight series to highlight STOMP Out Bullying’s World Day of Bullying Prevention on October 1. STOMP Out Bullying is a non-profit organization working to reduce bullying, cyberbullying, discrimination, and violence in schools. Every year, STOMP Out Bullying encourages people to wear blue to show solidarity and support and to create awareness of bullying on that day and throughout the month.

Stomp Out Bullying Blue UpLion Brand decided to support this event by organizing the distribution of 1,500 hats (or as many as they can get!) in blue yarn to a local school. If you’d like to participate, you’ll need to get your hat to New Jersey by September 1, 2020. If you can crochet or knit a hat and mail it in time, find all the details about the #HatNotHate campaign, including the mailing address for donated hats, here. If you can’t ship your hat in time, you can wear it on October 1 and let people in your local community know about #HatNotHate and the World Day of Bullying Prevention.
