Crochet Pattern: Smoothie Infinity Scarf

Free crochet pattern: Smoothie Infinity Scarf in Red Heart Sweet Home yarn by Underground Crafter

The Smoothie Infinity Scarf is a luxuriously soft infinity scarf that blends a variegated, chenille-like yarn with stitches at different heights to create texture and visual interest.

This is my second contribution to the fourth annual Scarf of the Month Club with Amy from The Stitchin’ Mommy and Rhondda from Oombawka Design. You can get the pattern for the Crunch Stitch Infinity Scarf, my other Scarf of the Month Club pattern, here.

While I was working on the Twin Textures Pillow for the Hygge Home Crochet Along, I fell in love with the plush softness of Red Heart Sweet Home yarn.

I knew that at some point, I was going to be making a scarf with it because it is just so cozy! When yet another cold spell hit the Northeast, I decided this week was the perfect time to whip up a quick and cozy infinity scarf!

The colors, the gently textured stitch pattern, and the softness of the yarn combined to remind me of a berry smoothie, and hence the Smoothie Infinity Scarf was born. The pattern is crocheted flat and then seamed, so if you prefer a straight scarf, you can wear it that way instead.

Amy from The Stitchin’ Mommy and Rhondda from Oombawka Design are some of my favorite blogger buddies, so I’m very excited to be part of their fourth annual Scarf of the Month Club.

Free crochet pattern: Crunch Stitch Infinity Scarf in Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Bonus Bundle by Underground CrafterEarlier this week, I shared the free knitting pattern for the Seeds and Cables Scarf. It was made with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Bonus Bundle yarn, a larger skein of Wool-Ease Thick and Quick with enough yarn for a scarf. I loved the idea of crocheting a larger project quickly and without weaving in a lot of ends, so I decided to make a crochet pattern using Bonus Bundle, too.

Free crochet pattern: Crunch Stitch Infinity Scarf in Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Bonus Bundle by Underground CrafterI took some of the photos at the Brooklyn Promenade (which you may recognize as the backdrop to the Promenade Shawl). It’s got the best view of the Manhattan skyline around.

Let me tell you a little about the Crunch Stitch Infinity Scarf. I used the crunch stitch, which is one of my favorite stretchy, ribbed patterns. I sometimes use it for hat bands. It makes a really squishy, cozy infinity scarf.

Free crochet pattern: Crunch Stitch Infinity Scarf in Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Bonus Bundle by Underground Crafter The crunch stitch in the back loop also has a knit look, and it’s very unisex.

Crochet Pattern: Peacock Shell Triangular Scarf

Free crochet pattern: Peacock Shells Triangular Scarf free crochet pattern in Cascade Heritage Wave yarn by Underground Crafter (Scarf of the Month Club 2018)The Peacock Shell Triangular Scarf is made with a self-patterning sock yarn that does all the colorwork for you. Worked from the top down to the point, you can easily customize it to your favorite size. Wrap yourself in lacy shells with this spectacular scarf that is light enough to wear almost year round.

Free crochet pattern: Peacock Shells Triangular Scarf free crochet pattern in Cascade Heritage Wave yarn by Underground Crafter (Scarf of the Month Club 2018)I don’t want to give up my crochet when the warm weather comes, do you? That’s why I like to use sock yarns to create light accessories that I can use to layer against the air conditioning or when the temperatures dip at night.

Free crochet pattern: Peacock Shells Triangular Scarf free crochet pattern in Cascade Heritage Wave yarn by Underground Crafter (Scarf of the Month Club 2018)

I used Cascade Heritage Wave yarn, a super fine (also known as sock) weight yarn that is self-patterning. It makes its own gentle stripes so there are fewer ends to weave in at the end and you can wear your scarf right away.

Free crochet pattern: Peacock Shells Triangular Scarf free crochet pattern in Cascade Heritage Wave yarn by Underground Crafter (Scarf of the Month Club 2018)This project also makes a great gift! It’s thin enough to fold up and wrap cutely, even though it has a triangular shape. And if you’re shipping, it’s even better because it won’t take up much room in a box or padded envelope once you fold it.

This pattern is part of the Third Annual Scarf of the Month Club with The Stitchin’ Mommy and Oombawka Design.
