Crochet Pattern: Clusters in the Corner Square

Free crochet pattern: Clusters in the Corner 12" Square in Red Heart With Love by Underground CrafterI’m excited to be joining the Moogly CAL 2018 with a free pattern for a 12″ crochet square that combines two of my favorite stitches: the crossed double crochet and the cluster. I made my version in neutral colors because it is going to (eventually) be part of a gift for someone with gray home decor, but you can make your version in brights, pastels, or any other color combination.

If you’re new to Moogly’s annual afghan crochet along, you can get caught up here! This is Afghan Block #14.

Free crochet pattern: Clusters in the Corner 12" Square in Red Heart With Love by Underground Crafter - Moogly CAL 2018I used two neutrals for my version, but feel free to add stripes. Just change colors at the end of every repeat of Row 7, or use Red Heart With Love Stripes and let the yarn do the work for you.

  1. Thank you for these wonderful designs. I hope to make a large piece of this. I recognized the stitch as “reverse double crochet” that you call “crossed double crochet.” Whatever the name, it’s one of my favs. With the cluster stitches, it’s doubly wonderful. Thank you!
