Crochet Pattern: Boho Tam

Boho Tam, free crochet pattern in Rowan Stone Washed yarn from Wool and the Gang by Underground Crafter | This retro tam uses a simple pattern and a denim tape yarn to recreate a boho look.Back in May, I went to see Counter Couture: Handmade Fashion in an American Counter Culture at the Museum of Art and Design with my mom. The exhibit was filled with handmade inspiration from the 1960s and ’70s (including some stunning crocheted pieces) and it inspired me to design a retro tam using a beautiful, denim tape yarn.

The yarn is the limited edition Rowan Stone Washed yarn distributed by Wool and the Gang. It arrived in the mail at about the same time as I saw the show so naturally, it was on my mind. I’ve heard that many of the colors have sold out, so if you’d like to try it (and I highly recommend that you do), you’d better hurry.Boho Tam, free crochet pattern in Rowan Stone Washed yarn from Wool and the Gang by Underground Crafter | This retro tam uses a simple pattern and a denim tape yarn to recreate a boho look.

The yarn feels as soft as your favorite pair of well worn blue jeans. (You know the one – it probably has some holes starting and is destined for the scrap pile. But right now, it’s so comfy!) It has a great drape. And, of course, it captures that great boho style!
