Welcome to the Pineapples for Everyone Shawl CAL! If you’re just joining in, you can find the free pattern here. Ravelry members can join our CAL chat here. Our tag is 2013PFEcal.
Last week, I shared the beginning of my color adventures in my new version of the Pineapples for Everyone Shawl. I started with Galler Yarns Inca Eco in Denim and then added Raspberry.
Originally, I planned to make little stripes, but the dramatic effect of the Raspberry led me to believe that a solid band (kind of like color blocking) was a better idea.
I couldn’t capture the full shawl in this picture, but you can see it has grown since last week.
When I did the edging, I matched up the colors to the body of the shawl.
I really love this new version. Rows 1-24 are in Denim and Rows 25-30 are in Raspberry.
I was hoping to block the shawl and take some pictures of that process, since a few people have asked for blocking tips. I didn’t have time to block the shawl this week, though.
I should have those blocking pictures in time for next week’s post.
How’s your shawl coming?
