I’m so excited to be part of the blog tour (and share a giveaway) for a new book by Dedri Uys!

I had the chance to get to know Dedri from Look At What I Made a little better last year when I interviewed her for National Crochet Month. She’s a talented crochet designer and blogger, and also a caring person.
Oh, and did I mention busy?
Dedri is raising three young sons with her husband and working four days a week as hospital radiotherapist. Somehow, she also finds time to create stunning crochet patterns and write books.
Her latest book is Big Hook Rag Crochet: 25 Quick-Stitch Designs to Make Using Leftover Fabric from Lark Crafts.
This book is a collaboration with 15 crochet designers working with strips of leftover fabric to make fast and eco-friendly designs. You can see all of the book’s designs here on the Ravelry source page.
I have two favorites:

If you’re new to crocheting with fabric strips, there are some great tutorials by Dedri in the back of the book that will help you create your own fabric yarn and teach you basic stitches and crochet techniques.
So, are you ready to win your own copy of Big Hook Rag Crochet? Lark Crafts is providing one lucky U.S. winner with a copy. Enter by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Monday, February 1, 2016 using the Rafflecopter widget below. One winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the blog tour for reviews and more chances to win a copy of the book!

I’ve never crocheted with fabric strips before and this looks interesting.
I think I would like to make the bath mat or striped rug first. All of the projects look cool.
Knowing Dedri’s pattern-writing skills, I know I want this book!
And I’ve been thinking lately of making some rugs – both for myself and as gifts for family and others!
Can’t wait to get this book!
I would try the bracelets and the balloon rug first.
I’d start with the ombre basket or storage boxes. It’s always fun to use yarn to make more places to store yarn!
I would love to try these patterns!
I would try either the owl doorstop or cozy cat cave first! Both are so adorable!
I would do the cat cozy cave for my stepsons cat and then do the ombre basket.
So many choices but I would have to make the floor cushions for my little babies!
I love the cat cove, too. I have two cats and four dogs, who all like to burrow. If I were to win, that’s what I’d be making first, second…
Night

I would make the striped rug and then the Ombre Basket and most of the other patterns too! Perfect timing because today I finally finished tearing 12+ sheets into strips. Just need the patterns 🙂

I would like to make the Cozy Cat Cave, 4 actually, 1 for each of my fuzzy kids.
I would are the floor cushion for the dog. I think my dogs would love it. Maybe my friend would be able to do the things he wants if they had a cushion to lay on he always quits what he is doing and picks them up.
I would definitely try the balloon rug first. I would be making it for my bathroom, so instead of balloons, I would applique seahorses and fishes on mine. Thanks for the giveaway
