Earlier this year, I visited the Hemptique booth at Creativation, a trade show for the craft and hobby industry. I was very impressed with the range of colors they had available in hemp cord. The representative gave me some samples and I’ve been crocheting bracelets from them ever since. This crochet pattern combines bobbles and craft beads to create a textured and durable hemp bracelet.

When I first saw the Hemptique display, I was assuming that all the cord would be in the earthy colors I usually associate with hemp cord.
I was delighted to discover that Hemptique offers a great range of colors, including variegated, metallic, and glitter hemp cord.
I used the Hemp Cord 4-color card boxes, which allow you to sample several colors (but don’t quite include enough of any one color to finish an adult sized bracelet). I added some faux bronze etched craft beads, but you could use any type of crafting beads.
If you plan on making a bunch of these bracelets, I would recommend getting spools so you could have the option to make a bracelet in one color, or have more control over color changes. Nonetheless, these were pretty fun to make!
