Hi, I am Lindsey Dale from the blog Winding Road Crochet. I am so happy to be sharing my Rosabelle Shawlette with you today.

Like many of my patterns, the Rosabelle Shawlette was inspire by a knitted piece I spotted on Pinterest a few years ago and the image of that shawl has been stuck in my head since. I really wanted to create something with a light and airy feel for the warmer months. Living in the desert, I experience a lot of warmer months.

I love the look of knitted items, but I am afraid I am a beginner knitter at best. So I turned to my crochet hooks and for a few months I have been looking for the perfect way to get that light and airy look with crochet.

I decided on an asymmetrical triangle shape to cut down on bulkiness. I wanted to work the shawl from side to side and using the asymmetrical style I could make a triangle by increasing and omit all decreasing in the pattern.

To keep the Rosabelle Shawlette light and airy I used a large hook with Red Heart’s Hygge Charm yarn. This yarn is beautiful and feminine with just a touch of sparkle. The Hygge Charm comes in many muted colors, but for this project I choose the Meteor color for its light dusty rose hue.

My goal with this pattern was to get a ribbed look similar to the garter knit stitch and to keep the pattern very beginner friendly. This pattern uses only single crochet, increasing with single crochet and working the the back loops only to create a ribbed texture.

This pattern works up very fast and has a simple two row repeat that is easy to memorize. I really hope you love your Rosabelle Shawl.
