Lacy Crochet Shell Stitch Scarf

I’m so excited to be participating in the Scarf of the Month Crochet Along with The Stitchin’ Mommy and Oombawka Design Crochet again! My contribution for this CAL is a striped shell stitch scarf in three colors. This is a beginner-friendly pattern and I’ve included helpful tutorials to make the colorwork simple and to minimize the number of yarn tails you have to weave in.

One of my favorite events to participate in every year is the Scarf of the Month CAL with Oombawka Design Crochet and The Stitchin’ Mommy. This year, I wasn’t sure what to make so I went into my yarn stash and found these lovely skeins of King Cole Luxury Merino DK. Luxury Merino DK is a beautiful, smooth, and ultra soft machine washable yarn available at your local yarn shop or online at LoveCrafts or Wool Warehouse UK. I had these four colors, but the green seemed out of place for this project so I put it aside for the future.

I was immediately inspired to create a striped project that shows off the three colors. I wanted to use a classic stitch pattern, but since we are heading into spring I decided to make a lacier version so I could wear the crochet shell stitch scarf throughout the transitional weather.

It was quite windy out when I took these photos. I’m so glad I had this cozy scarf to wear!
