Mélange Blanket Square 14: Liana Square
Our fourteenth square pattern is the Liana Square by Blue Star Crochet. You can find Veronika online at Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest | Ravelry | TikTok | YouTube
You can see Veronika’s version below. She used three colors in King Cole Fashion Aran yarn.
I am using King Cole Big Value Aran (available through your local yarn shop or online at LoveCrafts or Wool Warehouse UK) and my Denise US Size J-10/6 mm crochet hook for my blanket so I can keep consistent gauge across all my squares.
For my version of the Liana Square, I used Nougat in place of Natural, Berry in place of Pink, and Ocean in place of Coll. My square was closer to 5.25″ (13.5 cm) after Round 6, so I worked Round 7 by substituting single crochet for each of the double crochet stitches. After my modified version of Round 7, the square was the right size but a bit wobbly. I wet blocked the square. (If you’re new to blocking, check out Blocking Basics for Crocheters and Knitters.)
