Mélange Blanket Square 26: Melange Flower Blanket Square

Our twenty-sixth square pattern is the Melange Flower Blanket Square by Stardust Crochet. You can find Tasha online at Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest | Ravelry

You can see Tasha’s version in five colors below.

I used King Cole Big Value Aran (available through your local yarn shop or online at LoveCrafts or Wool Warehouse UK) for my square, along with my Denise US Size J-10/6 mm crochet hook, to keep my tension and gauge similar across squares by different designers.

For my version, I started with Nougat for Round 1, changing to Ocean with the slip stitch join. I continued with Ocean for Round 2, changing to Nougat at the slip stitch join. I continued with Nougat for Round 3, changing to Berry at the slip stitch join. I continued with Berry for Round 4, changing to Nougat at the slip stitch join. I continued with Nougat through Round 5, changing to Ocean with at the slip stitch join. I continued with Ocean for Round 6. For Round 7, I joined Nouga with a slip stitch in a corner chain-2 space, then chained one, and then worked the repeat (starting at the asterisk *) 4 times, joining with a slip stitch. My square was exactly 6″ (15 cm) but was a bit “roundy,” so I spray blocked it to shape. (If you’re new to blocking, check out Blocking Basics for Crocheters and Knitters.)
