FO Friday: My version of the Sparkling Wave Scarf

On Monday, we had a respite from the heat wave and I was able to finish the Bruges lace scarf.

I’m trying to pretend it isn’t 90 degrees out.

I started this during the Bruges lace class I took with Tatyana Mirer at Knit-A-Way back in June.  The pattern is the Sparkling Wave Scarf from Margaret Hubert‘s The Complete Photo Guide to Crochet.

This scarf is intended as a winter holiday gift for one of my dear friends, OB.  She has a preference for charcoal grey, black, and white.  Even though I’ve been trying to make my holiday gifts using stash yarn for my Holiday Stashdown Challenge, I didn’t have any suitable colors for her, so I bought some madelinetosh tosh sport in Kale at Knitty City.

As usual, I found a glaring mistake when photographing it.  But I don’t think OB will notice, and the ends were already woven in, so I’m letting it go.

Here’s a detail of the Bruges wave pattern.

I’m not sure if I’m going to block this before giving it to her.  I have five months to decide, so I’m not too worried about it right now.  You can see more details on my Ravelry project page.
