I’ve generally been a person who doesn’t decorate my home much, but since moving last August, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about my living space. And, that’s how the idea for this crochet table runner came about. I haven’t used table runners before, but I have seen some lovely ones out there. I decided if I was going to “dress up” my table, I wanted to go all out, and add a pretty centerpiece, too. The flowers really add something special and they make me smile!

If you’re new to crocheting layered roses, I’ve included a video tutorial to walk you through the pattern.

Assembly and Finishing

  • Position Roses as desired between marked sections (center rows between single crochet rows) as desired.
  • When satisfied with position, thread yarn needle with long yarn tail from start of first Rose. Join Rose to mesh with yarn needle. You can sew the Rose to the mesh, or you can alternate weaving in the yarn tail into the back of the Rose and onto the mesh (see Pattern Notes), which will make a less visible seam. When joined, weave in yarn tails on Wrong Side. Repeat with remaining Roses.
  • Fix Rose petals as desired. Spray block (see Pattern Notes) mesh piece to a rectangle approximately 52” (132 cm) long x 11” (28 cm) wide.
  • Depending on the size of your table, the table runner may spread across the short or long edge.
