One of the fun things I remember from childhood was getting ice cream cones that seemed to be bigger than my head. I think the perspective in the picture below really captures that feeling!

Another fun childhood memory was getting to eat the Neapolitan ice cream at my maternal grandmother’s house. Neapolitan ice cream came in a 1.5 quart box and the combination of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry was always a delight. So, when I decided to make a crochet ice cream cone pattern for the Afternoon Delight Crochet Along, I knew I wanted those classic Neapolitan flavors and giant scoops! I hope you think the Neapolitan Ice Cream Cone Pal is as cute as I do.

Neapolitan Ice Cream Cone Pal
Crochet Ice Cream Cone Pattern by Underground Crafter

This crochet ice cream cone pattern uses the classic combination of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavors known as Neapolitan Ice Cream. This pattern was designed as part of the Afternoon Delight Crochet Along with CAL Central Crochet.
Finished Size
- One Size: Approximately 9.5” (24 cm) tall after stuffing.
Materials
- Red Heart Super Saver yarn (available from Mary Maxim | Amazon) (100% acrylic, 7 oz/198 g, 364 yd/333 m) – 1 skein each in 4334 Buff Fleck (CA), 365 Coffee (CB), 774 Light Raspberry (CC), and 313 Aran (CD), or approximately 45 yd (41 m) in each of 4 colors in any medium weight yarn.
- US Size G-6/4 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.
- Yarn needle.
- Locking stitch markers – 2.
- I used the MECHEER crochet hook set including yarn needles, stitch markers, scissors, measuring tape, and case.
- Safety eyes – 1 pair. I used 6mm round eyes from the MUCUNNIA 528-piece set.
- Fiber filling.
Gauge
- Through Rnd 4 in pattern = 1.75” (4.5 cm) diameter. Exact gauge is not critical for this pattern. Stitches should be small so fiber filling doesn’t show.
