Xiomara Crochet Slouchy Beanie Pattern in 10 Sizes

As we head into fall, I’ve been getting ready for hat weather. Have you? Xiomara is a crochet slouchy beanie pattern available in 10 sizes so you can make matching hats for the whole family. The pattern is super simple (beginner friendly or perfect for crocheting while streaming). I used a self-striping, bulky weight yarn, so the colorwork is easy peasy and it works up quickly, too!

Recently the folks at KnitPal sent me some Ombré Encore yarn to try out. It’s a chainette yarn that is bulky (#5/chunky) weight and available in self-striping, ombré colorways. Ombré Encore is made with a soft acrylic. Each skein includes 140 grams (5 ounces) and 169 yards (155 meters) of yarn, and you can buy it on Amazon in packs of three skeins. I love the chainette texture and the soft halo, and I thought it would be perfect for making a hat.

Though I don’t personally wear a ton of hats (because my hair is flat enough as it is), I love to crochet hats because they finish up so quickly. I feel very accomplished after they are done!

I also come from a family of hat wearers, so hats are always great for gifting. I also regularly donate hats to different charities. (You can find some recommended organizations in the Ultimate Guide to Crocheting for Charity for Beginners.) This hat doesn’t have holes so it would also be a great option as a “chemo cap.”

The Xiomara crochet slouchy beanie pattern works for any gender and in 10 sizes from newborn through adult large, you’re sure to find your perfect fit!
