I’m joining Oombawka Design Crochet and The Stitchin’ Mommy for the tenth annual Scarf of the Month Crochet Along with the Sunshine Squares Scarf. The Sunshine Squares Scarf is a crochet squares scarf with a simple circle-in-a-square motif with “sunrays” around the edging. It’s the perfect bright spot on a grey winter day!

I was excited to be invited back to Oombawka Design Crochet and The Stitchin’ Mommy’s annual Scarf of the Month Crochet Along (get the details here on Oombawka Design Crochet and here on The Stitchin’ Mommy). Rhondda and Amy have invited guest designers, so each month you get 3 free scarf patterns. Whether you like to make scarves to wear, gift, or donate, this is the perfect CAL for you!

I’ve been on a bit of a granny square kick as of late, and there was a stretch of very grey winter days recently. So I decided to design a matching crochet squares scarf and hat set using cheerful colors. (Get the matching Sunshine Squares Hat pattern HERE!)

The Sunshine Squares Scarf will definitely brighten your day! My version uses Big Twist Value yarn in Varsity Yellow for the sunny centers and Big Twist Value Print yarn in Sunrise Ombre for the outer squares and borders.

You can make your version scrappy, if you’d like.
