Weekend Mystery Crochet Along 24
Crochet Pattern by Underground Crafter

The twenty-fourth pattern in the Weekend Mystery Crochet Along with Underground Crafter will include one clue published on October 16, 2026. This post will be updated after the CAL with the “big reveal.”
Finished Size
- It’s a mystery!
Materials
- Herrschners Be-Witched yarn (100% acrylic, 4.3 oz/121 g/269 yd/246 m) – 1 skein Slime Time, or approximately 269 yd (246 m) in any medium weight, self-striping yarn. NOTE: I used exactly one skein. If you don’t like playing yarn chicken, you might want to get two skeins just in case our gauge and tension is different.
- US Size 7 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Yarn needle.
Gauge
- 12 sts = 4″ (10 cm) across in pattern. Exact gauge is not critical for this project. Using a larger hook than is typical for this weight of yarn adds a soft drape.
- To make a gauge swatch, ch 34 and follow pattern instructions from Row 1.
Abbreviations Used in This Pattern
- ch – chain
- hdc – double crochet
- hdc2tog – half double crochet 2 stitches together (decrease) – [Yo, insert hook in next st or sp, yo and draw up a loop] twice, yo and draw through all 5 loops on hook. A video tutorial for this decrease is available below.
- If you can’t see the video tutorial above for the hdc2tog, watch it on YouTube.
- rep – repeat
- sc – single crochet
- sc – sc2tog – [Insert hook in next st, yo and draw up a loop] twice, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook. A video tutorial for this decrease is available below.
- If you can’t see the video tutorial above for the sc2tog, watch it on YouTube.
- sp – space
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- yo – yarn over
- [] – Repeat instructions between brackets as indicated.
Pattern Notes
- Ch 1 at start of Rows does not count as a stitch.
- Helpful tips for working with a long foundation chain are available in the video below.
- If you can’t see the foundation chain video above, watch it on YouTube.
- There are many ways to crochet into chain spaces. I used the first method shown in the video below for this pattern.
