Announcing the Layers of Texture Infinity Scarf Crochet-a-Long!

There’s something about summer heat that makes me want to host a crochet-a-long. It seems like we all need a little extra motivation to crochet in the warm weather, so why not do it with online friends?

I’m really exited about this CAL because I’m co-hosting it with the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA). I’ve been a member for the better part of a decade (maybe longer, but who’s counting?) and I’m also a volunteer blogger at CGOA Now!, the Guild’s blog. It’s a great organization, and if you aren’t already a member, you can join here. About the Layers of Texture Infinity Scarf

Explore intermeshing crochet (also known as interlocking crochet or double filet crochet) by making this reversible sampler infinity cowl. The pattern includes 6 different stitch patterns.

Intermeshing crochet seems hard at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be happy you tried it! You need only basic crochet skills since intermeshing crochet uses just chains and double crochet stitches. This unisex project is a great way to get a head start on your own fall accessories or holiday gift-making, or to make something special to donate to charity.

This pattern will be released in 6 parts. Each section will include both a written pattern and a video tutorial to help you as you make your first (or latest) intermeshing crochet project.

• Lion Brand Heartland (100% acrylic, 5 oz/142 g, 251 yd/230 m) – 1 skeins ea in 169 Shenandoah and 174 Joshua Tree, or approximately 175 yd (160 m) in ea of 2 contrasting colors in any medium weight yarn.

• US Size J-10/6 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain gauge.
• Yarn needle.
• Optional: 2 locking stitch markers.

Please note that gauge is not critical for this pattern, but it may impact the amount of yarn that you need. I recommend choosing a hook size that you can crochet comfortably with in your chosen yarn.
