Crochet Pattern: Textured Waves Hooded Cowl

Free crochet pattern: Textured Waves Hooded Cowl by Underground CrafterThe Textured Waves Hooded Cowl is a convertible cowl that can also be worn as a hood. Use post stitches to create gently textured waves. Crocheted flat and then seamed, this hygge-inspired project will wrap you in warmth and texture.

Free crochet pattern: Textured Waves Hooded Cowl by Underground CrafterEarlier this year, the nice folks at Yarnbox invited me to contribute a pattern to their subscription boxes. I wanted to create something that was textured and pretty but not too difficult to make. It actually repeats the same row for the entire pattern, so once you get the combination down, it is easy to make.

Free crochet pattern: Textured Waves Hooded Cowl by Underground CrafterBecause I know a lot of crocheters struggle with back post stitches, this pattern is crocheted flat and then seamed, so you only need to work front post double crochet stitches. You can find a video tutorial for these stitches here, or watch it at the end of the pattern.

You can substitute another yarn if you can’t find Flying Goat Farm Zephyrette yarn near you, but your cowl may not be as luscious and warm as this one!
