In today’s Granny Square Month post, I’m sharing a review of a portable granny square pattern collection along with a giveaway for your chance to win your own copy, so read on for details.

Grannies Gone Wild is a collection of 6 granny square afghan and wrap patterns made with Caron Simply Soft yarn. The booklet is about the size of a piece of letter paper folded in half, so you can easily fit it into even a small project bag. The collection includes 4 blankets and 2 wraps. All of the patterns are rated as easy, except for the first pattern for the Go Check on Granny blanket, which is rated as experienced.
Each pattern includes a skill level, a list of materials information about gauge, and a list of abbreviations and stitches used. Four of the patterns also include assembly diagrams. Each pattern includes one picture.
This booklet is bound with two staples so you can easily read while crocheting. It’s a pretty straightforward book of patterns, and it’s ideal for a crocheter who likes to crochet motifs on the go or who is a fan of Caron Simply Soft yarn. If you have a lot of pattern booklets or an extensive granny square book collection, you may not find something new here in the smaller motifs. However, I do believe that most crocheters will find the Go Check on Granny blanket to be an interesting twist on the classic granny square, and it’s also made in one piece.
After reading my review, are you ready to add Grannies Gone Wild to your collection? The nice folks at Leisure Arts have offered a giveaway for us!
