Crochet Frog Pattern: Frazier the Frog

Frazier the Frog is a crochet frog pattern that is made with just one skein of yarn. This cute critter is a fun project designed to delight. His floppy legs can be made longer or shorter, depending on your preference.

There’s something really satisfying about one-skein projects. They are usually pretty quick to make and so there’s that, but it’s also a fun way to use up “oddball” skeins in your collection. Frazier the Frog was born out of having most of a skein of Furls Whims Merino DK yarn left in my stash after finishing up Sunny the Sheep.

This frog crochet pattern started as many of my amigurumi designs do, with a Google images search for “[the color of yarn in my stash] animals.” I wasn’t sure I was in a lizard mood, and so frog it was!

I wanted to make floppy legs with bobble webbed feet for Frazier…

…and give him “buggy” eyes.

I used cat safety eyes (turned horizontally instead of vertically), but you can use frog safety eyes like these instead. I really love how this project came out. I’ve included a lot of photos for the assembly since it’s a bit unusual to guide you through it.

By the way, this project is my second using Furls Streamline Swirl crochet hook (this colorway is called Café), and I really just love the feel of these hooks. They are very smooth and the ergonomic grip is wonderful for amigurumi projects which require small, tight stitches.
