Crochet Pattern: Pop-Up Square

I’m joining The Unraveled Mitten for the 2023 Stash-Busting Mystery Crochet Along with the Pop-Up Square, a textured granny square pattern set on point. My version uses two colors but you can make yours scrappy or even in one color.

I was excited to be invited back to The Unraveled Mitten’s annual mystery crochet along. This year’s version includes 20 squares (each 12″/30.5 cm) in medium weight yarn. You can follow The Unraveled Mitten’s 2023 Stash-Busting Mystery Crochet Along here. Heather had a list of yarns designers could select from, and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice was my favorite on the list. It’s soft and washes well, so it is a great yarn for blankets. I just happened to have two green skeins in my stash and the colors inspired me to create this textured granny square pattern. You can do a little bit more, design-wise, with 12 inches, so I decided to set the square on point, too.

You can see Heather/The Unraveled Mitten’s version in 4 colors below, and read her notes to ssee what she changed about the pattern here.
