I’m joining the Pet Appreciation Blog Hop with Jo’s Crafty Hook for the second year in a row. Last year, I designed the Motif Pet Blanket pattern, and this year I wanted to create another crochet cat blanket. I have two black cats, so it is always best to make gifts in pairs!

For my contribution to this blog hop, I designed the Basketweave Cat Blanket using King Cole Pricewise DK. As the name suggests, this is an affordable and easy care double knitting (#3/light) weight yarn. I held two strands together to create the marled look, to crochet a cozier blanket, and to make it a bit faster!

Pricewise DK is available from your local yarn shop or online at LoveCrafts or Wool Warehouse UK. Although I designed the Basketweave Cat Blanket for cats, it’s also size for a small dog. It’s perfect for covering your pet’s favorite spot so you can avoid the inevitable trail of fur landing on your furniture permanently. These are also a good size for donating to pet shelters for use in crates.
