I love triangular wearing shawls in the winter because they keep me looking fabulous while I’m staying warm. The isosceles triangle shape with two equal sides works very well for shawls because you can easily tie the ends together if you don’t have a shawl pin.

The isosceles shape is used in a lot of beginner crochet shawl patterns because it can be formed with simple stitch patterns and easy to recall increases and decreases. The Ruby Shawl is no exception! It’s a perfect beginner pattern or a meditative/watching streaming/waiting in line pattern for the more experienced crocheter.
