This accent or pet crochet rug pattern is easy peasy and works up in a flash with a jumbo weight yarn. If you’d rather bust through your yarn stash, make a scrappy version using multiple strands of polyester yarn held together. This crochet rug pattern is super plush and should end up about 1.5” (4 cm) thick.

My two cats are now seniors and they need more cushioning. MC gifted me with some Bernat Blanket Big yarn and I knew that it would be just the right amount for making a special crochet rug pattern for my kitties.

If you don’t have cats, this makes a cute bathroom or accent rug, too. I was able to finish mine in an afternoon.
