Holgate Textured Crochet Beanie Pattern

I’m sharing a textured crochet beanie pattern in 10 sizes from newborn through adult large so you can make a set for the whole family! The Holgate Beanie is crocheted from the bottom up and it also has stripes. Customize your versions with team colors, holiday colors, or the recipient’s favorite colors!

This pattern is part of the second annual Yarnsgiving, a crafting tradition that runs from I Love Yarn Day on the third Saturday in October through Giving Tuesday on the first Tuesday in December. Yarnsgiving is all about making with yarn and giving to others. You can find out more about Yarnsgiving and get free crochet and knitting patterns here.

Hats are some of my favorite projects to make because they work up quickly so you get (near) instant gratification, they are relatively small and thus perfect for trying new stitches and techniques, and they make great gifts or donations! And, of course, if you live somewhere with seasons that include colder weather, you probably wear hats yourself. Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash is a great yarn for hats because it’s available in a lot of colors to match winter coats and sweaters. Wool is a great insulator for keeping heads warm, and the superwash makes this yarn machine washable. 220 Superwash is available online at LoveCrafts | Jimmy Beans | Wool Warehouse UK.

I hope you’ll enjoy wearing or gifting the Holgate striped and textured crochet beanie as much as I enjoyed making it! If you also knit, check out my contribution to last year’s Yarnsgiving, the Turkey Sack Hat pattern.

This post is also part of the third annual Countdown to Christmas I’m sharing with folks signed up for the Crochet Along updates and the Underground Crafter newsletter.
