How the Two of a Kind Hat & Scarf Knit Along Works
On the last Friday of the month from January through October, 2025, we’ll share a free knitting pattern for a hat or scarf. Each month, we’ll alternate designers and pattern types, so at the end of each pair of months, you’ll have a hat and a scarf made with the same yarns with one Underground Crafter and one Stitches and Scraps pattern. We’ll skip November and come back the first Friday of December with the final hat and scarf duo. You can make these cozy projects to keep, for gifts, or to donate to charity while chatting with other crocheters in our groups and sharing your projects to win giveaway prizes!
Cascade Yarns generously provided yarn to me and Pia from Stitches and Scraps for our patterns. In the KAL schedule (below), you can find a list of which yarns are used in each pattern, but if you’d like one easy shopping list, here are the yarns we used!

How to Join the Two of a Kind Hat & Scarf Knit Along
- Sign up for Knit Along updates and the Underground Crafter newsletter to get regular updates, including an update as each KAL pattern is released. When you sign up, you’ll also get access to my subscriber vault which includes exclusive free PDF patterns, a coupon code for your choice of any knitting or crochet pattern or ebook from my Ravelry shop, and coupon codes from other indie designers and crafts businesses.
- You can join in by knitting the patterns as you have time.
